INDUSTRIES FOR AFRICA FOUNDATION
“Old age is the fourth stage. By the time one reaches this stage of his journey, he must have discovered that the joys available in this world are trivial and fleeting. He must be equipped with the higher knowledge of spiritual joy, available through delving into the inner spring of Bliss. Through his experiences, his heart must have softened and be filled with compassion. He has to be engrossed in promoting the progress of all beings without distinction. And he must be eager to share with others the knowledge he has accumulated and the benefit of his experiences.”

Sri Sathya Sai Baba  (Indian Spiritual leader, b.1926)
The reasons Africa lags in development are all covered elsewhere and are not relevant to this page. All that is relevant is the basic reality that economic development is a result of both opportunity and the knowledge of how to grasp it.

Industry provides opportunity - this Foundation exists to support individuals and organizations in African countries in the development of the knowledge and skills needed to grasp it.

All of the projects we have undertaken have the equivalent in the west - organizations that have a lot of individual skills making up a collective knowledge that is "The Company" - something that has grown from a small start a long time ago. To create that from an almost clean sheet is a challenge.

To meet that challenge we need a pool of knowledge, and above all else experienced people we can use as masters and mentors. People who are willing to spend a year or so in some part of Africa imparting knowledge they had all but forgotten they had.

We need experienced manufacturing men, mining men, smeltermen, foundrymen and patternmakers, fitters, toolmakers and machinists - people who can set up and train locals to operate gear cutters and the myriad of machine tools involved.  Steam men and tyre men - the list just goes on and on...and that is just one of the projects. We need altruistic people with experience won over time.

If you have one or more of the skills we need you will know it after browsing these pages.

If you are tired of the rat-race that is now only bottom line driven - contact us.

If you are retired and looking for something - alone or with an understanding partner - then contact us.

If you are a member of an African diaspora willing to support us at the Swedish end of any project in any way you can - then contact us.

If you just like the idea and want to be part of the team - then contact us.
